The gray wolf is one of the most controversial animals alive today. You've probably heard at least once in your lifetime that gray wolves are saviors of ecosystems, or that gray wolves attack livestock every chance they get. The polarized stances many people take on gray wolves has chronically exacerbated issues. However, this also presents an amazing opportunity to dig deep, and get to the source of our beliefs!
The activities, videos, journaling prompts, group discussions and 1-on-1 discussions in this workshop are intended to dispel common myths and prejudices help about gray wolves (both good and bad!).This workshop is meant to encourage people to get involved in conservation efforts, and to understand what that truly means.
I ultimately intend to illuminate the interconnected world, the importance of our ability to reason with those interconnections, and make key decisions that positively impact our community, country, and even our world!
If you choose to join in on this unique Gray Wolf Workshop, my hope is that you have a new-found or better-developed ability to converse with people who have opposing view points. Not only that, but are also able to take steps forward in action together! And of course, I hope you gain a stronger, foundational understanding of gray wolves in the United States!
Each week covers a different topic that blends into the following week. The topics are:
1. Wolf Characteristics and Behaviors
2. The Pack
3. Perceptions about Wolves
4. Wolf Extirpation and Reintroduction in the Lower 48 States
5. Making a Choice
The contents of the workshop can be completed on your own time, so there isn't pressure to attend meetings, or anything of that nature!
If you attend the 5-week-long Gray Wolf Workshop, you will receive a Certificate of Completion as well as a free gift from the Wild Planet Creations collection!
