Supporting the Andean Bear Cubs at the Salisbury Zoo!

On January 16th, 2022, the Salisbury Zoo (located in Salisbury, Maryland) was blessed with two new Andean bear cubs!

Mother, Chaska and father Pinocchio welcomed two new male twin cubs, Raymi and Inti. In the wild, Andean bears live in South America along the Andes Mountain range, including Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia, Columbia, Peru and Chile. The names that were given to these two cubs comes from the Quechua language that is used throughout the central Andes Mountains. In Quechua, Inti translates to "sun" and Raymi translates to "celebration"!

The Zoo has announced that they will be constructing an enclosure that is large and safe enough for the two new bear cubs! Therefore, to help out with the cost of construction, Wild Planet Creations not only painted a new watercolor painting of one of the Andean bear cubs, but we are also donating 50% of the final sale of the original painting to the Salisbury Zoo! If you decide that you would like to purchase this painting and contribute to the Andean bear enclosure construction, then we will make sure the donation is submitted in YOUR name!

You can find this painting for sale on our Wild Planet Creations website right here!
